Maribeth Condon, PT, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy degree in 1985 from the University of Lowell, Massachusetts.
Always interested in expanding her knowledge and skills, she has completed more than 1200 hours of postgraduate continuing education study in physical therapy. As a PT, she has past experience in acute inpatient hospital care as well as acute and outpatient rehabilitation of neurological conditions including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and stroke. Over the past 20 years she has chosen to focus her training and practice on orthopedic manual therapy. In particular, she uses the approach of Functional Manual Therapy (FMT), developed by Greg and Vicky Johnson, physical therapists and founders of the Institute of Physical Art. FMT integrates mechanical treatment of the joints, soft tissues and visceral and neurovascular systems with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) techniques, targeted exercises and education to improve the body’s ability to move efficiently without pain. Maribeth is also a vestibular rehabilitation specialist, having successfully completed the Herdman vestibular competency based training at Emory University in Atlanta in 2008. Vestibular rehabilitation helps conditions which result in dizziness and/or balance disorders. She has also given presentations to community groups on the subjects of balance and fall prevention.
Maribeth creates programs tailored to each individual patient and loves helping them achieve their activity and fitness goals.
